Step 1

Creating a habit

A habit helps you stick to something you do regularly: drinking water, reading, working out. It takes a minute to set one up.

  1. Open “Habits” and tap +

The button in the bottom right. A list of templates opens: pick a ready-made one or tap Custom habit.

  2. Choose an emoji and a name

Short and to the point: “Water”, “Workout”, “Reading”. The emoji helps you spot the habit in the list and on the main screen.

  3. Fill in “Why”

A few words about your motivation. This text will show up in the reminder instead of the standard one.

  4. Pick a life area

For example, “Health”. The habit will start counting toward your life areas radar.

💡
Fill in the “Why” field: the reminder will come with your own words, and it gets easier not to skip a day.
Step 2

What's on the habit card

Every habit in the list has a card. It shows how you're doing today and this week.

The “Water” habit card: 5 of 8, 12-day streak, “Health” life area, weekday circles 1 2 3 4 5 6
  1. Emoji and name of the habit
  2. Today's progress: 5 of 8 glasses
  3. Streak: 12 days in a row
  4. Life area: “Health” in this case
  5. Week: a check means the day is done, a ring means partly done, a dashed circle marks days ahead
  6. The arrow opens the habit with its stats
Step 3

Schedule and duration

The schedule sets which days you need to do the habit. There are two modes.

📅

Days of the week

Pick specific days, for example Mon / Wed / Fri, or all 7 days for a daily habit.

Every dayWeekdaysCustom days
🎯

N times a week

Not tied to specific days: just do the habit the right number of times in a week, for example “workout 3 times”.

Flexible modePRO
  • Fixed period: set a number of days, for example 30 or 90. After the end date the habit finishes on its own.
  • Indefinitely: with no period, the habit keeps going until you finish it.
Step 4

Daily goal

A habit can be a simple “done or not”, or it can have a goal with a number and a unit.

✅

Simple

One tap marks the day as done. Good for “Meditation”, “Workout”, “No sugar”.

💧

With a goal

For example, 8 glasses or 30 minutes. The ring fills up as you go, and the day counts once you reach the goal.

A goal with a number is part of the PRO subscription. Time of day (morning, day or evening) is available to everyone: in the list, habits are grouped under “Morning”, “Day” and “Evening”.

Step 5

Time and reminder

The habit form has a “Time” card: when to do it, how long it takes and whether to remind you.

  • Time: when you do the habit. Once it has a time, the habit shows up in Calendar.
  • Duration: 30 minutes by default, you can change it.
  • Reminders: the toggle appears once a time is set. The notification title shows the emoji and name, and the text shows your “Why”.
  • With PRO, time of day fills in the time for you if you haven't set it manually: morning 08:00, day 13:00, evening 20:00. Without a subscription, time of day doesn't change the time.
⭐
Time, duration and reminders are part of the PRO subscription.

To get notifications, allow them for MyLife in your phone settings.
Step 6

Habits in Calendar

A habit with a time appears in Calendar next to your events and tasks.

A habit looks like a task, only with a habit icon before the name
  • Which ones show up: habits scheduled by days of the week with a set time. “N times a week” habits don't appear in Calendar.
  • Checking off: the check on the card marks the day, and for a habit with a goal a window opens to enter the value.
  • Moving: in “Day” and “Week” views you can drag the card to another time or pull its edge.
🕐
A habit has one time for all days. Moving it in Calendar changes it for every day, so the app asks first.
Step 7

How to check off a habit

You can check off a habit in three places.

A habit card in the app

Tap the circle for today. For a simple habit, one tap marks the day, and for a habit with a goal it adds to the value, for example +1 glass.

The “Pinned” widget with the “Water” habit

The “Pinned” widget on your Home Screen: the + button checks off the habit without opening the app.

Live Activity for the “Water” habit on the Lock Screen

Pin the habit to a Live Activity: it stays on your Lock Screen all day, and you can check it off right there.

Step 8

Progress and streak

Open a habit: the stats are at the top, with a calendar of check-offs for the month below.

  • ✅ Total: how many days the habit has been done.
  • 🔥 In a row: your current streak. For “N times a week”, weeks are counted.
  • 🏆 Record: your best streak ever.
  • ✓ This month: the share of completed days in the current month. With PRO, you also see the trend vs last month.
  • Calendar: check-offs by day. You can mark a missed day after the fact.
The open “Water” habit: 64 total, 12 in a row, record 21, 88% this month, October calendar
An open habit
📈
One missed day is no big deal: the streak starts over, but your history and record are kept.
Step 9

Finishing and deleting

When you no longer need a habit, you have two options.

🏁

Finish

The habit leaves the active list, but all its history is kept. Reminders are turned off.

🗑️

Delete

The habit and all its check-offs are deleted for good. Use this if you added it by mistake.

FAQ

FAQ

Can I check off a past day?
Yes. Open the habit and mark the day you need in the calendar. Days within the habit's period and schedule are available.
How is “N times a week” different from days of the week?
“Days of the week” ties the habit to specific days. “N times a week” isn't tied to days: just do the habit the right number of times during the week, on any days.
Why am I not getting reminders?
Check that the habit has a time, the “Reminders” toggle is on in the “Time” card, and notifications for MyLife are allowed in your phone settings. Reminders are turned off for a finished habit.
